The screw is CPT hardened. This case and through hardening process allows perfect balance between core ductility and surface strength giving the screw equal qualities to a high tensile bolt, with no requirement for a pilot hole.
Tri-lock threadform shank forms as well as cutting a thread, providing 25% less insertion torque but more importantly the screw will not work loose as the wood flexes under use.
Unlike other performance screws, Screw-Tite works exceptionally well with most types of Wallplugs as the thread does not have cutting serrations to damage the plug and impede functionality.
